>> STUBBORN
In the beginning before Scott even puts on the Ant-Man suit it is easy to tell he is a man of honor and respect but to the point that his stubbornness clouded his vision. Despite his wife's insistence to quit his life of crime, Scott decided to pull off one last score in retribution for Vistacorp's fraudulent activity he was ultimately fired for pointing out and fixing originally. Getting carried away after successfully reimbursing the clients, Scott decided to be a dumb ass and let his stubborn attitude get the better of him by stealing his bosses car, breaking into his mansion to drive it right into the dick's pool in defiance. Obviously the biggest mistake of his life Scott was stricken with remorse for his stubborn actions losing that which mattered most, the family trying to better him.
Ant-Man is approached by Falcon in the future after trying to break into the Avenger's HQ with a lucrative, albeit highly illegal offer. Although his stint with the law had been averted for the time being, knowing better than to leave Hope and Hank to peace out to Germany without a word Scott could not sit idly by when informed of Captain America's pearl having the utmost respect for his counterpart. "I had to do the right thing for the wrong reasons." Words coming straight from the horses mouth after being apprehended by Tony Stark and the rest of the gang on his side, forcefully imprisoned within the Raft until broken free by Captain America and the Winter Soldier after his distraction as Giant-Man to aid in their escape.
>> GREED
Throughout the entirety of the first two Ant-Man films Scott shows his greed out weighs his superior intellect on multiple occasions. From his humble beginnings as a self proclaimed 'cat burglar', stealing from only those who deserved it, the man's obsession for thievery and mischief catches up to him not once but
twice. Originally caught for his involvement in the Vistacorp heist and sent to jail, Lang paid the price losing his job, moral standing in society and most of all his family. After being released he visits his daughter on her birthday only to be greeted with hostility by Jim Paxton and his ex-wife marked as a criminal in disgust.
Desperate without any other options, Scott turned once again to a life of crime to obtain the Ant-Man suit that would ultimately change his life for the better but at the time causing him quite a bit of grief in the process. After much suffering from both Hank Pym's training regimes and more recently his adventures in time travel with Avenger allies, Scott has slowly learned to contain his greed after sacrifices made during the final fight against Thanos before prosperity was restored to the universe at large.
>> SELFISHNESS
Even though Scott was a generally confident man most of the time, relying on keen intellect alongside Ant-Man abilities selfish doubt riddled his brain occasionally thanks to the constant obstacles in his way. It all started with the Vistacorp job, headstrong attitude getting the better of him after fired for exposing the corrupt actions of his boss and company. If it weren't for his stubbornness Scott could have lived out his life happily, daughter and wife at his side but instead was sent to prison for the next five years losing everything.
After finally being released from prison Scott is faced with no other options to provide for Cassie's childcare payments he turns back to crime in hopes of a big score, fearing his one last chance at redemption to continue being a part of his daughter's life. Unfortunately Scott was met without much success on that front but fate intervened and Hank Pym stepped forward with financial aid, potential crisis averted.
This wasn't the last time his selfishness got the better of Scott, the events in Germany leaving him stuck on house arrest for two years in penance for his crimes. With only three days left on his sentence, Scott was thrust back into the world of Pym particles and Quantum Realm madness having strange dreams about Janet Pym. During his venture to aid Hank and Hope he was left with no other choice but to leave them in their time of need, fearing his own freedoms at stake, CIA breathing down his neck Scott was stricken with guilt as he left them to fend for themselves taking the suit with him to evade the clutches of Tommy Woo one last time.
>> DEVOTION
If there is one thing that can be said above all else about Scott Lang is his utter devotion to both the task at hand and his beloved daughter Cassie whom he would do anything for. After his time in jail spent waiting aimlessly to see his precious peanut after being only a year old when sentenced he wanted nothing more than to see her beautiful smile and do whatever he could to make her happy. There were a few bumps and roadblocks along the way, trouble with the law on both home soil and abroad in Germany where Scott got up to some mischief with Captain America with the rest of his assembled crew whom opposed the remaining 'Official' Avengers at the time. Cutting a deal with Thaddeus Ross, Scott lived out his life stuck behind closed doors of his humble abode before finally tasting freedom again even if he did have a few close calls with the CIA during his captivity aiding Hank and Hope to find Janet Pym in the Quantum Realm.
>> INTELLECT
Despite all the shortcomings in his humble beginnings as a simplistic thief, Scott used his superior intelligence and knowledge of electrical engineering to his advantage. Case in point when breaking into Hank Pym's house using a reactant agent to extract a fingerprint gaining initial access followed up by freezing the Carbondale Safe to pop door free, finding the Ant-Man suit inside much to his dismiss initially in hopes of a big score. The next time Scott uses his big brain was to avoid an eternal fate in the Quantum Realm after going Subsonic in his fight against Yellowjacket, placing one of the Pym Particle Disks into the Regulator of his suit before pressing the growth button thrusting him back to normal reality.
Last and
certainly not least after Scott returned from the Quantum Realm after being trapped for five long years it was ultimately his idea of time travel through the use of said realm to revert the wrongs set by Thanos. Seizing all the Stones before the harbinger of death to bring back everyone that was lost, along with Tony Stark's great sacrifice assured the Universe at large peace and prosperity after long last.
Powers and Abilities:
Size Manipulation: With the use of the Ant-Man suit Scott can either reduce his size to that of an 'ant' or become massive in size, though his strength diminishes rather quickly due to exuding a lot of energy in the process unable to last long.
Superhuman Strength & Durability: Whilst wearing the suit in its miniature form Scott retains the durability of that of a normal human though with increased speed and density allowing him to use momentum to his advantage. Exerting too much strength or speed could result in killing someone getting up to speeds as fast as a bullet thus being extremely dangerous.
Telepathic Manipulation: Using the EMP Communication device perfected by Hank Pym along with the Ant-Man suit, Scott can stimulate the ant's nerve systems allowing him control over his small companions capable of flight or assaulting his target.
Highly Intelligent: Constantly proved throughout the entirety of the MCU films Scott has above average intellect with a Masters degree in electrical engineering and knowledgeable in the ways of chemistry as well. Last but not least he's proved an expert tactician capable of devising schemes and plans alike either premeditated or on the fly.
CLOSE UP MAGIC: While under house arrest after his stunts in Germany, Scott took to great lengths to try and keep his daughter Cassie amused in his home learning close up magic to great proficiency.
